Our very own Soror discreetly chose to make a difference, embodying our chapter’s motto: “Sisterhood in Action, Leading with Heart.”

We are partnered with NMDP at a national and local level; And she made the selfless decision to donate, offering someone the gift of hope and a chance at more tomorrows. We are proud of you, Soror Andrews! You are leading with your heart!

✨Soror Andrews Journey in her own words:
“Today was a pretty big day in my bone marrow donation journey. 🤎
💬I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this because I never want it to seem like I’m doing this for attention. But I also believe there’s something meaningful about sharing experiences that might encourage someone else to do something that could change another person’s life.

💬I was definitely anxious. This was actually my first time having a procedure without my wife by my side, and anyone who knows me knows that’s a BIG deal for me. She’s usually right there with me through things like this, so not having her here feels very different.

💬But I’m so, so grateful that my mama is here. 🥹🤎 No matter how grown I am, there’s something about having your mom beside you when you’re nervous that makes everything feel a little less scary. Knowing I didn’t have to go through this part alone means more to me than I can explain.

💬I also want to give a special shoutout to the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Zeta Phi Sigma Alumnae Chapter - Tacoma, WA and the #ndmp for partnering with us and giving me the opportunity to do this. I’m truly grateful for the work you do and for the chance to be part of something that could make such a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

💬So today, I was nervous, grateful, emotional, and reminding myself why I chose to do this in the first place. Somewhere out there, someone needs what I’m able to give, and if going through a little discomfort and fear can give another person a chance at more life, then it’s worth it.

💬Here’s to doing something bigger than yourself, even when you’re a little scared. Give Bone Marrow if you’re able to! 🤎🫶🏾” @nmdp_nw @tacomasgr @sgrhoupdates

Leadership both on the regional and national level want you to RHOck the vote, this week, Western Regional Syntaktes Andrea Davis, who lives in Glendale, Arizona, champions you to vote because:
“As Black women, mothers, wives, and community anchors, we carry the pulse of our families and the mission of our organizations. When rights are being rolled back and the political landscape feels heavy, sitting on the sidelines is not an option. Our vote is our protection, our voice, and our mandate to build an infrastructure that supports our families, our mental health, and our future. Exercise your power because the work we do today secures what we leave behind. As a new mother, I’ve added my son’s future to my why!”
